RUUD BACKS ROBIN

The former Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has said that he expects the summer signing Robin van Persie to be a major success at the club. The former Arsenal striker Robin van Persie is the next big Dutchman to arrive at the club following the departure of van Nistelrooy in 2005.

Ruud van Nistelrooy was one of the incredible goal scorers that the club has enjoyed in the last two decades. He managed to score almost 100 goals in just 137 appearances for Manchester United in the league. He has said that he does not see a reason why Robin van Persie will be able to match that record.

ROONEY WANTS ENGLAND CALL

The striker of Manchester United, Wayne Rooney, has said that he wants to be included in the England national team for the friendly match against Sweden which is going to be played on 14th of November.

After England’s world cup qualifying match against Poland on Monday, the manager of the England team, Roy Hodgson, had said that some of the senior players of the team would be rested for the friendly cash against Sweden next month. But, Rooney doesn’t want to be rested.

When asked whether he wants to feature for England in the match against Sweden in November, Rooney said, “Yes, off course. I don’t want to miss any international game. I have already told the manager that I want to go to Stockholm for that match.”

AIMING TO REUDCE INJURIES

Manchester United are hoping that they will be able to reduce the number of injury problems that they have been suffering in recent seasons following the open of the new medical Centre. Manchester United have spent close to £ 15 million on the new medical Centre at the club's Carrington training ground. Manchester United have been one of the worst affected clubs in recent seasons in terms of the number of injuries. There have been many times during the last three seasons when Manchester United have been left with only one recognised defender at the back.

United facing new injury setback

The first few matches of the new Premier League season have suggested that Manchester United still possess many of the same frailties in defence and midfield that proved so costly to them last season, and those thinking of betting on the Old Trafford club reclaiming their title with one of the sports betting or online casino gambling sites will have further cause for doubt with the news that another of the club’s defenders – Phil Jones – has now been ruled out of action for a further eight weeks.

While it is true that the 20 year old is not central to the club’s title bid – indeed he has not been able to start a match this season – and the news that he is facing a lengthy recovery time from knee surgery leaves the club even more short of reinforcements at the back.

LEAGUE IS TOP PRIORITY

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that the top priority for the club in the new season is to reclaim the title back from Manchester City. Manchester United finished in the second position last season after they lost the title in the last few matches of the campaign. The club have a great tradition of winning titles in every season after finishing second in the previous campaign. They have achieved this record in the last five occasions they have finished in the second position. Manchester United have made some key signings in the form of Dortmund midfielder Kagawa.

DORTMUND REFUTE LEWANDOWSKI RUMOURS

German champions Borussia Dortmund have made it quite clear that they do not have the intention of selling star striker Robert Lewandowski to Manchester United in the summer. Manchester United have already secured the signing of a Borussia Dortmund player in the form of Shinji Kagawa.

Just when it seemed that Sir Alex Ferguson will be able to strengthen his squad even more, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has said that any interest in the Polish striker will not be entertained by the club. The 23-year-old is currently on international duty with Poland at the Euro 2012. He scored for his international team in the 1-1 draw with Greece.

FERGIE PLAYS DOWN CHANCES

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that his team will certainly lose the chance to retain the title if they lose against Manchester City in the Manchester derby on Monday night.

Many have been predicting that this is the biggest Manchester derby of all time, as both teams will be coming into the match with an opportunity to win the title. It is more difficult for Manchester City because they have to win in order to have any chance of winning the title. However, even a draw is sufficient for Manchester United, as they will be heading into the remaining two matches with a three-point advantage.

BERBA WANTS GAMES

Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has said that it is extremely painful not to be in the first team on a regular basis.

Even though Dimitar Berbatov has come of age at Manchester United in the recent seasons, Sir Alex Ferguson has often resorted to using either Danny Welbeck or Hernandez as a partner for main striker Wayne Rooney.

As a result, the Bulgarian – who was signed for a record £ 31 million a few seasons ago – has found himself on the starting 11 only five times in the Premier league this season. There have already been a number of rumours linking him with a return to Germany, where he rose to prominence before joining Tottenham.

GIGGS SIGNS FOR ANOTHER YEAR

Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs was recently awarded a one-year contract extension. Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has said that Ryan Giggs is a player who is worthy of the new contract he has signed with Manchester United.

The 38-year-old is one of the oldest players in the division, but continues to represent Manchester United at the highest level. He is the only player left in the division to have scored in every season of the Premier league since its inception. More than the records, Rio Ferdinand believes that it is the professionalism and the quality of Ryan Giggs that has made him worthy of the new contract.
