UNITED BATTLE IT OUT

A few days ago Manchester United battled it out against Bayern Munich as they played each other for the 1st leg of the Champions League match which kicked off in Old Trafford and goals from Nemanja Vidic and Bastian Schweinsteiger forcer a draw.

There were a few controversial moments that occurred during the match and one of those incidents arrived when the German midfielder Schweinsteiger was sent off of the pitch after a challenge he made against Wayne Rooney and even though replays displayed minimal contact between both of the players, the referee Carlos Velasco Carballo decided to give Schweinsteiger his 2nd yellow card and he was sent off of the pitch.

Manchester United have improved their medical facilities by installing aspects like new ultrasound, CT and MRI scanners at their training ground.

Manager David Moyes said that he is extremely pleased with the improvements made in this regard and he termed the club as having the best medical facilities of any club in the world. The medical systems have been provided by Toshiba, who are one of the numerous sponsors for the club. It has been a troubled period for Manchester United on the pitch, but Moyes will be hoping that this improvement helps him avoid injuries to key players.

MATA IS CONFIDENT

Manchester United’s January signing Juan Mata says that he is confident that the club will be able to finish in the top four and also fight for titles in the coming seasons. “You continue to do what you have been doing. If you have to change it, it suggests you were doing the wrong things in the first place, but we are not and the things we have been doing are right. In management, you are going to lose games. I don’t know any manager who hasn’t lost games and you have to go through it at some point of your career’’.

The Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed that the penalty taking duties have been taken off the hands of Wayne Rooney at least for the moment.

The striker Wayne Rooney has missed some crucial penalties this season. His latest miss came in the match against West Ham United in the third round of the FA Cup, which could have sent the team out of the tournament once again at this stage. As a result, United decided to hand the penalty taking duties to the veteran Ryan Giggs. The 39-year-old scored from the penalty spot in the 4-1 win over Fulham during the weekend.
