SHAW, MCTOMINAY SUSPENDED FOR VILLA

The Manchester United duo of Luke Shaw and Scott McTominay have been ruled out of the Premier League encounter with Aston Villa away from home due to suspension. Aston Villa play hosts to Manchester United at Villa Park on Saturday evening and the two aforementioned players won't be available due to the accumulation of five yellow cards and an automatic one-game suspension.

Shaw and McTominay were in the Manchester United starting XI as they beat Aston Villa 1-0 at home to seal a place in the FA Cup fourth round. McTominay was the recipient of the only goal of the game scored in the first half. His goal ensured that the Red Devils saw off Villa in their third round clash to seal a meeting with English Championship side Middlebrough in the next round.

In the absence of England international Shaw, Brazil left-back Alex Telles is expected to deputise for the game at Villa Park. For McTominay,experienced Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic could take his place after Fred was preferred to him in the Manchester United XI for the FA Cup game with Villa on Monday.

While Shaw and McTominay won’t be available for United against Aston Villa this weekend, they have been boosted by the return of four first team players from injury as revealed by interim manager Ralf Rangnick. According to him, the quartet of Jadon Sancho, Phil Jones, Cristiano Ronaldo and club skipper Harry Maguire have returned to training ahead of the game.
The four players missed the Villa game because of various injury issues. In the absence of star man Ronaldo during the FA Cup clash with Villa, Rangnick opted forUruguayan international Cavani as the lone striker. Club skipper Maguire was also absent for the game paving the way for Victor Lindelof and Raphael Varane as the centre back pairing during the game.
