BERBA WANTS GAMES
Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has said that it is extremely painful not to be in the first team on a regular basis.
Even though Dimitar Berbatov has come of age at Manchester United in the recent seasons, Sir Alex Ferguson has often resorted to using either Danny Welbeck or Hernandez as a partner for main striker Wayne Rooney.
As a result, the Bulgarian – who was signed for a record £ 31 million a few seasons ago – has found himself on the starting 11 only five times in the Premier league this season. There have already been a number of rumours linking him with a return to Germany, where he rose to prominence before joining Tottenham.
He was expected to make a move in the January transfer window, but none materialised because of the lack of a concrete bid from the interested clubs like Bayern Leverkusen. Even though the 31-year-old Bulgarian striker has been on the score sheet every time he has been selected, Dimitar Berbatov has expressed his disappointment at not being selected on a permanent basis.
He is currently the third top scorer for Manchester United this season. Berbatov has also made only three appearances in the cup competitions like the Champions League and Carling cup.
"It's just about being ready. We have a big squad and you know sometimes you are not going to play. It's sad and it's painful but you need to be strong and be prepared for when your team-mates need your help. We are a team and we want to win together," Dimitar Berbatov said in a recent interview.
Even though Berbatov has been used only for 10 matches – including his substitute appearances, he has scored seven goals in the process. Due to this impressive scoring form, Berbatov believes that he will get a chance finally.
