Owen Ruled Out
Manchester United's Michael Owen has been ruled out of action for anything up to six weeks, which means that United will be struggling to get him fit for the Christmas rush of games.
Owen limped out of United's game against Otelul Galati after only 20 minutes, but the injury wasn't at first thought to be that serious, especially with the international break coming, giving Owen an extra 2 weeks off to get back to full fitness. As it turned out, the injury looks to be a whole lot more serious, with the Reds releasing a statement on their official website that Owen would be out until Boxing Day at the very least.
"Michael has a thigh muscle injury and will be out for six weeks or so," a club spokesman told manutd.com.
Owen had only just returned from his previous muscle injury. If he was struggling to push himself into the first team before, it now looks near on impossible for him, with the season almost half-way through by the time he returns again. 10 games will be played whilst he is out, and thats 10 games in which the likes of Chicharito Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov, Mame Diouf and Federico Macheda can push for a palce ahead of him.
Get well soon Michael!
