Rooney: Win for the Busby Babes

WAYNE Rooney knows the weight of history is on United's 2008 European Cup campaign - Sir Bobby Charlton has spelt it out!

Munich survivor and Old Trafford ambassador Charlton has told the current players the appropriate tribute they can pay to the tragic Busby Babes is to win the club its third European Cup in May.

Charlton addressed Sir Alex Ferguson's squad recently and Rooney and Co watched an emotional DVD compiled by the club on the 1958 accident.

Now the England striker wants to answer Charlton's Champions League call and help the Reds seal the Munich commemoration campaign with success in Moscow in May.

"We spoke to Sir Bobby and he put a bit of pressure on us to win it!" says Wayne.

"It would be good for the club if we could win it this year. It would be a great achievement for us to win the European Cup, not just for ourselves, but also for the Busby Babes themselves.

"Sir Bobby said how fitting it would be for us to win the European Cup this year of all years, but he also said he didn't want to put too much pressure on us.
