Michael Owen loves Man United

Michael Owen has dubbed Manchester United "probably the biggest club in the world" - comments that are likely to anger his former Liverpool fans.

The striker is expected to receive a hostile reception when he returns to Anfield with United on October 25. The Englishman is expected to be fit for the match, despite being substituted with a groin strain midway through the first half of the Champions League win over Wolfsburg last week.

"I came off just before my groin went," Owen said in The Daily Telegraph, "so instead of three or four weeks, it's only three or four days, but that's something you get with experience."

The 29-year-old is yet to score in just three starts for United in all competitions but has netted twice as an impact substitute, most notably with his late winner in the Manchester derby.

But although he remains behind Dimitar Berbatov and Wayne Rooney in the pecking order, Owen admitted to loving life at Old Trafford.

"It's fantastic working with Sir Alex," he said. "It's everything you would expect of a top, top team, probably the biggest club in the world. Everything from the kit man to the girls who work in the canteen and the manager are just first class."
