Giggs: Winning Feeling
RYAN Giggs feels the only way he will be able to really enjoy the remainder of his career is by maintaining the winning habit.
Now approaching his 34th birthday, Giggs has just signed a contract extension with Manchester United that will keep him at Old Trafford until 2009.
"I was pleased to get the contract sorted because it means I can just get on with my football over the next 18 months or so," he said.
"Winning the Champions League again is definitely a big aim and it would be nice to win a 10th title. The main thing is just to enjoy my football but you only really do that when you are winning trophies."
Giggs has been reluctant to mention Charlton's record, dismissing it as an achievement he cannot even think about until he gets close. However, with the landmark achievable before the current campaign reaches its conclusion, the thought has started to penetrate Giggs' mind.
"It will be a great personal honour," he said. "To play so many games for the club you have supported all your life and pass the total of probably the greatest player the club has ever had would be brilliant.
