Vidic & Evra Nearly Quit

Nemanja Vidic admits both he and Patrice Evra wanted to quit Manchester United just weeks into their Old Trafford careers.

"We speak about it quite often," said Vidic.

Evra Denies FA Charge

UNITED defender Patrice Evra and Chelsea groundsman Sam Bethell have both denied the charges levelled against them by the Football Association over their part in the row at Stamford Bridge last season.

Evra and Bethell were involved in an angry confrontation during United's warm-down following their 2-1 defeat.

"I think a manager like him deserves to win the Champions League more than once," said the France full-back.

"This is why I hope that we can deliver the gift of the trophy to him out of respect for what he has done for Manchester United.

Evra: 2nd Time Lucky

Patrice Evra is desperate to win the Champions League with Manchester United to erase the memory of his final defeat with Monaco in 2004. Four years ago Porto roared away with European football's biggest club prize.

United's clash with Chelsea in Moscow next Wednesday promises to be a whole lot closer, with any edge being claimed by both sides as the mental battle intensifies.
