Vidic Gets Payrise

  • 24 June 2009

Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic is reportedly set to be rewarded for an outstanding season with a £1 million a year pay rise.

The Serbian defender was voted the club’s player of the season, after a series of stellar displays helped his side win yet another Premier League title.

However, his performances looked to have come at a cost, with reports suggesting that a number of clubs were interested in luring the defender away from Old Trafford.

Both Barcelona and AC Milan have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old, although Vidic has always insisted he is happy in Manchester.

The News of the World now claim that the Serbian is set to become even happier with the English champions who are willing to hand him a massive pay rise.
