Manchester United struggling to get in top Position

  • 13 December 2014

Even with the substantially large amount of cash that Manchester United spent in the previous transfer window in order to bring stars to Old Trafford such as: Angel Di Maria, Radamel Falcao, Daley Blind and others, United are still struggling trying to get into the top 5 spots of the Premier League.

A few weeks ago it was confirmed that Louis van Gaal was going to be given another huge transfer budget so the Dutchman can sign new players and not have to worry about the price or the financial terms of bringing yet another performer to the team and increase the chances of the club of securing a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.

Rumors are spreading around like wildfire linking certain players with Manchester United. One of those players was Gerard Pique as the Spanish defender can help solve some of the defensive issues that United has been experiencing in this season ever since they lost Ferdinand and Vidic in the heart of the defence.

However, it does not look like Pique will be making his return to Old Trafford and instead of joining Manchester United; Pique is now being linked with Chelsea with Jose Mourinho reportedly to be preparing an offer of around $37.4 million although it still remains unsure if Pique is even interested in leaving Barcelona.

Javier Hernandez will be spending the rest of the season on loan with Real Madrid but Manchester United already has one of the best attacking departments in all of the Premier League with Juan Mata, Van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Angel Di Maria. Manchester United does not have any real needs of signing yet another attacking player; their main focus should be in the midfield and defence.

The January transfer window is approaching and one of the clubs’ that is in need of signing a few players to boost their squad is Manchester United.

The German midfielder Sami Khedira is not a consistent starter for Carlo Ancelotti in Real Madrid and his contract expires in 2015, he is a good option for Louis van Gaal to consider. Khedira is an experienced defensive midfielder that can help out the team in many aspects.
