Evra: League Priority

  • 11 November 2007

Patrice Evra insists that the Premier League title remains the priority despite progress in Europe.

"It will be a very hard game at the weekend," Evra said.

"I think maybe more hard than Arsenal. Blackburn are a strong team, physically you have to be ready for this game.

"I went to the Champions League final with Monaco (losing to Porto in 2004) and I want to win that trophy but this year I want to win the Premier League first.

"It is the priority because you need to confirm your trophy. It is unbelievable to win the Premier League. It is one of the best leagues in the world and last year I was so happy."

The Frenchmen believes that United possess the firepower this season to challenge on all fronts, but that the games against their closest rivals will ultimately decide their destiny.

"I think this year it is very hard to win the title and we need to beat our rivals for psychological reasons.

"We have the team to win the title again but you have Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea.

"This year the squad is more strong, we have a lot of quality players. With (Carlos) Tevez, (Wayne) Rooney (Louis) Saha, (Cristiano) Ronaldo, Nani and (Ryan) Giggs we know we can score every game."
