Evra: Chelsea Still a Threat

  • 21 September 2007

Reds left back Patrice Evra warns that Chelsea still pose a major threat at Old Trafford on Sunday.

"Chelsea haven't been doing very well but it would be dangerous if we thought too much about that," said the Frenchman. "We don't need to be watching what they are doing and what's going on there. We need to concentrate on ourselves. We need to watch Manchester United.

"I didn't see them play the other night but I know that they are going to be ready for this game.

"We are fully focused after our win in Lisbon against Sporting. To win 1-0 away from home is a big result for the Champions League.

"It is one of the best feelings you can have after a game winning 1-0. Obviously I would prefer to win by more but a victory is a victory."

Evra is aware the dog- eat-dog nature of the new campaign has thrown up a tougher challenge in England this season.

"It is too early to speak about the title," he added.

"This season a lot of teams look as though they will be strong; Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal and United. What about Blackburn?

"This season will be harder than last year."
